Survival server

Getting Started

In game, there are commands you can type to get different pieces of information:

/rules - see the Minecraft Server rules

/tutorial - be taken to this website

The Survival world resets every 6-9 months. When this happens, you are sent a world download of the current world so you can play it privately if you would like to! You can download all past worlds here: https://info.spectrumgaming.fun/worlds

The survival world is on easy mode , which means:

  • You keep your inventory when you die

  • When you first join you can complete a wide variety of different quests to help you get started, which are optional.

  • You can teleport back to spawn and the shopping district with the commands /spawn and /sd (there is a 1 minute delay between using /spawn, /sd and /home (/home explained in more detail below))

  • You can set your “home” meaning you can do the command /sethome and then teleport back to your home with the command /home (the delays listed above apply to this command as well)

  • The difficulty is set to “easy”! This means Hostile mobs will spawn but deal less damage than Normal mode. However, mobs will not cause you harmful status effects. For example, cave spiders will not poison you and the wither boss will not cause you the Wither effect. Also while your hunger level can deplete, it will only go as low as 5 hearts and you cannot die of hunger

Shopping District Information

The shopping district has had a massive update compared to last season's shopping district, instead of being able to build anywhere which caused a lot of issues with buildings being too close to other member's builds, instead, we now have "plots", 1 player can have 1 plot in the shopping district

You can get a plot by asking an admin for one when you see them on the Minecraft server, If the admin has time they will give you a plot, If they don't have the time they will ask you to reask next time you see them online.

Once you have your shopping district plot you will be able to customize it to your liking, you will also be able to manage it via the lands menu (the plot is a land area inside of the shopping district land, you will have the admin role inside that plot meaning if you open the land menu, navigate to the areas menu and find your plot name you will then be able to add roles, add members, change permissions and more!) - you can find more information on how areas work below under the Land/Area claiming section.

Inside your plot you can also add tradeshops, these were on the server last season aswell, tradeshops allows you to setup a chest with a sign on it, and it allows you to add a safe way for you to trade items for different items with other members. You can create a tradeshop by adding a sign to a chest and adding the following text:

Line 1: [trade]

Once you add that you can then look at the chest, hold the item you want to sell in your hand, and type the command /ts addProduct (number of items) - example: /ts addProduct 20 while holding a diamond. This would mean you will be selling 20 diamonds. (You do not need to add the item name to the end of the command, adding the item to the end of the command sometimes does not work.)

Once you add the product you can then add the cost item (the item members will have to give in exchange for the product, You can do this by holding the item you want in return and typing /ts addCost (number of items) - If you do not have the item you can add the item to the end of the command (/ts addCost 5 Emerald for example.)

Once the trade shop is created you need to put the Product item (in this case 20 diamonds in the chest, and the status of the chest will change from "out of stock" to "in stock", then if a member has the (in this case) 5 Emeralds they can simply right click on the trade shop sign and the emerald will be placed inside of the chest, and the diamonds will be placed inside of the member's inventory.

The Chest Protection System

You can easily unlock and lock objects by typing the command /lock or /unlock and then clicking on the object.

Once an object is locked you can hold shift and left click on the object OR type /protect and left click which will bring up the settings menu for that object!

How to add someone to an object?

Using the protection system, you can give individual players access to an object.

In the menu, go into the “Members” section and then click on the green skull that says “Trust player” you can then type in the username you would like to add. From here you can remove member permission or promote them to 'admin', meaning they can also trust other players to this item. Another way to do this is by typing /trust [player] then clicking on the object

How to add a group to an object?

You are able to create groups which you can then add users to. Once that group is added to an object that will give all the users in the group access to use the object.

If you go to the 'groups' section of the menu you can create a group and give it a name. Then all you have to do is simply left click on the group you would like to add and that will add everyone inside that group to the object.

To remove the group from the object you can hover over the “Edit Group” section in the main object menu and just press the “Q” Key.

There is a lot of customisation for the chest protection system. You can get more in depth information here: The protection system in detail

You can lock a variety of items, including up to 10 pets if you would like to keep them safe :)

Land/ Area claiming

Land/ Area Claiming

The video above may be incorrect.

Some information about lands:

Land claiming is a new system we have added to both easy and hard mode! It uses similar menus to our chest protection menus if you have used those before. Lands can be a bit confusing at first, but becomes quite easy to understand!

When you join the server you will not be able to create your Land or claim Land until you have played on the server for 6 hours.

Once you have played for 6 hours you will be able to create your Land.

At first, you will be able to claim up to 6 chunks of land, but every hour you play on the server you will be given an extra chunk which you can claim, you will be able to claim a maximum of 150 chunks!

You can create up to 35 ‘Areas’ within your Land. The main Land is counted as the “default” Area. "

If you also have a shopping district plot or are a part of another member's lands with admin access such as claiming, make sure you do /land edit (your land name) to switch to your land.

The main land is the "default" area in the area menu. You cannot delete this area.

If you have land within 1,000 blocks of spawn or the shopping district you are not allowed to ban players from your land. This is due to it causing issues with players using elytra's to fly to spawn/traveling to spawn and being teleported back due to being banned.

Creating your land:

  • After you have played on the server for 6 hours you can create your land by typing the command /land create (your land name)

  • You can claim chunks for your land by typing /claim

  • You can manage your land via the land menu or via commands - you can do /land help to see all land commands and you can type /land to open the land menu.

View Command:

  • /view - this is a very useful command as it will show you where other members and your own Lands are by displaying a green (if it is your Land) or a red (if it is someone else's Land) particle line around the claimed chunks! - you can also use /view help to see more view commands with descriptions for each command such as:

  • /view stay - keeps the border at the height you ran the command at (meaning when you move to a different Y level the border wont follow up with you.

  • /view here - Does the opposite of /view stay, the border will move up and down with you (this is the default option when you do /view)

  • /view disable - this disables the borders

This can be used to help understand how big your Land is, which area belongs to you and which area belongs to others. If you are standing inside someone else’s Land it will display some information about the Land. This tool is also a very useful feature when setting your “Areas”; more information on that later!

Commands (these commands can be controlled via the /land menu aswell (it's recommended to use the menus for easier navigation):

/lands list - This command brings up a menu that lists all the Lands that have been made

/lands invites - This commands opens a menu that displays all the lands you have been invited to join, You can join up to 5 lands (6 including your own land)

/land trust (player) - This will add a player to your Land, - to add a player to a certain Area, add the Area’s name after the members name (/lands trust LewisB1 Area1)

/land setrole (player) default (role name) - This will set a player inside of your land or certain area to a specific role, you can create up to 10 roles in your land. - to set a members role inside a certain area change the "default" to the areas name.

The video above may be incorrect.

Area claiming

Areas are like mini Lands (or plots) inside of your Land. You can create up to 35 Areas (the main Land counts as an Area, so you can create 34 extra Areas) in your Land.

You can add certain players to each Area and you can create or add from your land roles (which will include all the members who currently have that land role) you can create or add up to 10 roles per Area.

In each Area you can customize your own settings for Player management, Roles, Natural flags, and Miscellaneous flags, all these basically work the same way stated above in the Land menus.

The "Areas" feature is really useful for lands that want to have villages with different members building houses. We also use the area system for the shopping district, each shopping district plot = 1 area.

Create an Area:

Creating an Area is actually quite easy. First off you need to go into your Land menu using the /land command and then navigate to the Areas section. Then click on the ‘Create Area’ button where you will then be asked to send the name of your area in the chat. (Type the name as a message, not a command.).

You then need to do the command /selection which will then give you a golden hoe (if you take the hoe out of your hand then the selection will cancel and you will have to redo the command!).

Once you have the golden hoe you can select an area you would like to claim by left-clicking in one corner and right-clicking in the opposite corner. This then creates a "box" which you can then claim by typing /land assign (area name) (Areas are done by blocks, not chunks meaning 1 corner would need to be at the bottom, and the other corner would need to be at the top in the air like a world edit/world guard region).

/set home and warp

Set home and warp

Set home and warping

  • You can teleport back to spawn and the shopping district with the commands /spawn and /sd (when running the commands you will have to stay completely still for 30 seconds before being teleported, there is also a 1 minute delay between using /spawn, /sd and /home (/home explained in more detail below))

  • You can set your “home” meaning you can do the command /sethome and then teleport back to your home with the command /home (the delays listed above apply to this command as well)

Easy nether hub

Easy nether hub

The video above may be incorrect.

Easy Nether Hub

When you go through the nether portal at the hub village you will spawn in the "nether hub". Here, there are 4 long tunnels (red, yellow, green, blue), you are allowed to build your own tunnels out of these long tunnels, each "tunnel extension" which you can build is numbered between 1 - 100. We have made this so it is easier to find friends, without having to travel thousands of blocks!

Quests

Quests

Quests

Quests is a easy mode feature which aims to help players with getting started, there are a variety of quests available for you to complete, in 3 separate menus. To view your quests you can do the command /quests which will open a quests menu, here you can view which quests you are on, how many quests you have left to complete, and what your current quest is! All quests are started automatically when you join the server.

"Mob Quests" - Kill 1-3x of a certain mob to receive a reward.

"Action Quests" - These are more long-term quests like walking, flying, mining and building for a long time, e.g. for mining 1k blocks.

"Random Quests" - 28 random quests that involve things like crafting, brewing, eating, obtaining items and fishing etc.

Once you complete a quest you will be rewarded with in game items!! This ranges between food, blocks, armour and even diamonds! When you complete a quest a message will pop up over your screen, as well as a message in chat which will also explain your next quest!
